How the SAT tests this skill
The digital SAT keeps a compact geometry list: angle relationships with parallel lines, triangle similarity and congruence, right-triangle trig (SOH-CAH-TOA), circle equations, and area/volume. There is no proof-writing — every question reduces to setting up one relationship and solving.
Similar triangles are the test's favorite hard question: two triangles sharing an angle, with the ratio hidden in a word problem about shadows, ramps, or scale models.
- Angle relationships, parallel lines, and polygons
- Similar triangles and proportional reasoning
- Right-triangle trigonometry and the Pythagorean theorem
- Circle equations, arcs, and sector area
